Foxy Bingo Sponsors First Dates

Foxy Bingo has announced it has become the official sponsor of the hit Channel 4 TV series, First Dates, along with spin off shows First Dates Hotel and First Dates Australia.

The new series of First Dates begins on Tuesday 19th January at 10pm, when we expect to see the new Foxy sponsorship for the first time. Broadcast on both Channel 4 and E4, the campaign is said to feature Foxy starring in various idents before each episode.

Foxy's First Date Tips

The idents before the show and on each ad break feature Foxy giving out his 'First Date Tips', such as:

  • Slip into something Foxy.
  • Eyes down? Eyes up!
  • Phone off, game face on.

The video clip below shows this first set of idents. I am sure there are a few more variations on this with different dating tips.

Perfect Fit

Foxy's Northern twang will seem very fitting this series given the show has moved from it's traditional London home for the first time in eight years. This year, Fred and the First Dates team will be set up at The Refinery in Spinningfields, Manchester.

Anna Venturas, Brand Director at Foxy Bingo was pleased at the announcement of this new TV show tie-in.

'We are delighted to be sponsoring First Dates throughout 2021, the show really resonates with our audience and we truly believe that this will be a perfect fit for both the programme and our brand. With the sponsorship of First Dates, we hope to reach even more of our audience so they can make a date to discover some firsts. They may not find love, but they will certainly find our Foxy Fabulous community'

Is a First Dates bingo game coming soon?

Foxy Bingo has previous when it comes to sponsoring TV programmes. In the past couple of years the Foxy Bingo was the sponsor of Friends on Channel 5 and this activity was combined with an exclusive Friends bingo game, slot game, Slingo game and scratchcard.

However, we've seen nothing in any press releases just yet to suggest there will be any kind of First Dates bingo or slot games appearing on Foxy just yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually happened.

Foxy has recently added new unique games such as Fluffy Favourites Bingo to it's roster, so why not a First Dates Bingo game too? I will certainly be keeping my eyes out for any developments.

What is First Dates?

First Dates is one of the most popular TV shows on Channel 4. Each episode sees singletons going on a blind date with someone set up by the TV show. The restaurant is fitted with cameras and a hidden film crew record all of the dates taking place, which range from catastrophic failures to couples who later went on to get married.

Maître d'hôtel Fred Sirieux stars as the match-maker supreme, welcoming each guest to the restaurant and introducing them to their dates. However, due to social distancing this series we believe Fred will be taking a step back and the guests have to find and introduce themselves to their dates this time around. Rapid testing of all participants meant the show could still go ahead (almost) as normal.
